When performing Spiritual work, I recommend to Smudge with Sage to remove negativity and then Sweetgrass to bring in your Spirit Guides and Helpers. When cleansing, bring the smoke to your heart, mouth, eyes, ears and then over the top of your head (crown chakra) with your hands, this will clear your senses so you will be able to receive information from your Spirit Guides and Helpers. Remember to call in your Guides and Helpers for protection during your work, and to THANK THEM. Native people use Tobacco as their gift, but whatever you choose to give, if it comes from the Heart and a Deep Place of Gratitude, it will be acknowledged and accepted.I recommend smudging the house at least one a month, more often if there is a lot of tension and drama in the home. Smudging daily doesn't hurt, especially if you have teenagers.
